Here we'll show two different export processes:

  1. Cutting Only: Export DXF

  2. Cutting & Engraving: Export Multi Color DXF (Coming soon..)

1. Cutting Only: Export DXF

Exporting from a face is a quick and straightforward way to get just the cutting lines you need for the laser.

Right click the face of the model and select “Export Face As…”

2. In the Save Copy As window, enter a name for your file (1), select AutoCAD DXF as the Save as type (2) and click the “Options…” button (3)

In the DXF File Export Options window, select AutoCAD 2007 DXF for the File Version (4) and select Finish (5)

Select Save in the Save Copy As window to complete the file export process

2. Cutting & Engraving: Export Multi Color DXF (Coming soon..)

To have parts both cut and engraved, a different line color is needed for each set of paths. A drawing file will need to be created. Screenshots coming soon for this process. In the mean time, single color dxf files can be opened and edited in a free software called Inkscape.
